"First"

First got her name from her order of birth. She was one of four self brindles in the litter. Since she was the one without any kind of specific distinguishing features, she became "First." At the time she left my home she was my all round pick bitch from this litter. This girl has many features that remind me of the old Kristull brindles. Not only is she good looking, but she shows every indication that she will lure course. First is also a very sweet girl. I found it very hard to keep from getting too attached to her. Somehow I managed to allow her to leave to go to her new home at Silkenswift Borzoi in Maryland. However, I am cheered by Bonnie's stories about how she has made many new friends and enjoys long hours of play with them. She has some big paws to follow there at Silkenswift. I hope she does me proud and brings Bonnie Dalzell and James Saklad joy for many long years. I invite you to visit the Silkenswift website by clicking HERE.
First has had a litter for Silkenswift Borzoi! Seven puppies were born on November 9, 2009 sired by Silkenswift Carrot Ironfoundersson, SC. Carrot is a handsom bright red boy with a black mask and white half collar, chest, front legs, and tail tip.You can view a page that shows Carrot and two of the available puppies by clicking here.

Well, it suddenly occurred to me that I had not updated First's photos since November. So one dark, overcast day during the Great San Antonio Freeze (yes, the city shut down for about two days due to patchy ice on the highways. Staying below freezing for longer than a few hours is a bit extreme for this area.) I went out with camera in hand and got some pretty nice shots of Miss First. Here is First as she just notices me taking her picture after checking out a cat in the neighbor's yard. This photo was taken on January 23, 2007

Here is a three quarter shot of First's front taken on the same day as the photo above.

I caught this photo of First accidentally. She had been standing in a pretty pose, but just as I snapped the shot, she broke her stance and stepped out. It is an interesting picture that I thought would be fun to share. This photo was taken on March 12, 2007.

First has a pretty head. Photo taken on March 4, 2007.

Finally, I have a photo of First's rear to share. I think I have said this before, I am very pleased with the rears on these puppies. Photo taken on March 4, 2007.

This is a photo of First "stacked" when she was six weeks old. This photo was taken by Margaret Strother.

Not that she knows how to stack any better, but here is First as she looked at twelve weeks. Deena Sessums took this photo.

Well, you get what you can get when it comes to wiggly puppies. Unfortunately, there are leaves in front of First's face. We were trying to avoid the hot sun as much as possible. Deena Sessums took this photo.
