This litter is by Silkenswift Carrot Ironfoundersson SC and out of Celeritas Bellatrix at Silkenswift GRC. There are currently three puppies available. Two males, both reds, one with a mask, the other without: one spotted brindle girl. This litter has good soundness and substance with balanced, outgoing temperaments. The puppy we brought back to Texas, 2000 miles by car, acted like he had been traveling by car all his life.
I am very pleased with what First produced when matched with Carrot. In fact, the puppy that has been out and about at the shows has been doing quite well. Silkenswift Brandywine at Kalabria was Best Puppy In Specialty Show at the Deleware Valley Borzoi Club Specialty on May 9, 2010 under Ms. Robin K Riel. She was exactly six months old at the time of that win. Brandy also placed in her sweeps class at the 2010 BCOA National Specialty.

The Sire
Silkenswift Carrot Ironfoundersson, SC
Carrot is a brilliant red fellow with a sweet personality. Here he is stacked while participating in the conformation competion at a local show (local to Maryland). Carrot is being expertly handled by Kari McCloskey.

Bonnie Dalzell likes to take pictures of her dogs when they are walked into a natural stance. Here is Carrot standing naturally for the camera.
|
I love this photo of Carrot.

Carrot at the trot in the conformation ring. Again, he is being handled by Kari McCloskey.

The Dam
Celeritas Bellatrix at Silkenswift, GRC
This is quite a nice photo of First self stacked as she watches a departing deer. She is breathing hard after having just chased the deer through the yard and is trying figure out how it managed to get through an impenetrable fence. You can see more pictures of First on her webpage if you click here. But don't forget to come back and look at her puppies pictured below. (This beautiful picture was taken by Renee McCartin.)

The Puppies
Chambord
Chambord was my favorate of the two males pictured. Unfortunately, he had the wiggles and was fighting us more than his brother so he looks like a pretzel. If I had the space, I would have taken this boy home. He was sweet and beautiful and impressed me. Chambord is 7 months old in this photo.
|
Here is a photo taken of Chambord at about 8 and a half months of age. He was still a wiggly puppy but this is a better picture than the last one. This photo was taken on July 28, 2010.

The Puppies
Cognac
After a near failure in my attempts to stack Chambord, and a dismal failure in my attempt to stack Margarita (hence no photos of her). Kanne Earl Bowers, a third generation show dog person with lots of doggy wisdom, decided to take things in hand and demonstrated an astonishing old stacking technique. It worked! Cognac stopped wiggling, relaxed, and stacked like a pro after Kanne assisted. He is also a lovely puppy. I could have easily taken him home, too. he reminds me of First's brother, Bheru, but Cognac has more substance than his uncle. Oh, did you notice daddy Carrot watching his son's photo session from the other side of the fence?
|
OK, so Cognac wins the stacking competition. Pretty red coat with flashy chrome and keeps his feet where you put them! This photo was taken on July 28, 2010 when Cognac was about 8 and a half months old.

Not pictured is Margarita, a charming white girl with dark brindle spots. I never managed to keep her from wiggling long enough to get even a marginally decent picture of her.
