Celeritas Bringer of Light

Back home

"Luther"

Next Borzoi
Luther is a cheerful fellow who has brought a lot of joy to my life. Now he is in Little Rock, Arkansas bringing joy to his new mom, Ella Hunt. He and Ella have been having fun exploring the wonderful areas near home on their frequent walks. The lucky boy will be a spa dog.
I invite you to visit the Caracalla Spa where Luther will be "working" by going to their website. To do so, click HERE. Just reading about what they offer makes me want to plan my next vacation in Arkansas!

Harlequin trots

Luther finally got tired of helping his brother dismantle the cactus and is trotting off to see what else he can get into. This photo was taken on April 1, 2007. You can see the evil barbecue grill in the background of this photo. See how it crouches in preparation to leap out at unexpected puppies? Luther apparently ran into that grill at a full run. The impact knocked the grill about ten feet and broke Luther's shoulder blade. He has made a complete recovery and is back to enjoying romping and playing and going for long walks.

Luther free standing at 11 and a half months of age. He showed interest in chasing the lure when taken to a lure practice. He is a cheerful fellow.

Harlequin in bed with toys

Here is Luther in his new bed at his new house with all his cool toys his new mom, Ella, had waiting for him. Coming to Ella's house was like Christmas in August for Luther, so many fun things to unwrap and explore!

Harlequin with toy at Ella's

Luther is such a lucky dog. His mom, Ella, had a wonderful bed (I could have slept in it) all ready for him and had gathered all sorts of cool toys and treats so that he would feel welcome to his new home. This is a photo of Luther with his really fun toy as he reclines in his bed gazing out at the huge yard he has to run around in. What could be better? But wait! It does get better. Luther got to spend a month on Saint George Island off the coast of the Florida panhandle. Not only is he going to be a spa dog, but he is already a beach dog. I take it he has a real affinity for sand crabs.

Here is a photo of baby Luther when he was six weeks old. Margaret Strother was kind enough to take this photo for me.

Harlequin stacked at 12 weeks of age

Luther is 12 weeks old in this stacked photo. It is amazing how much more leggy the pups are at this age. Just look at those big knobs on his wrists! He was right in the apex of a growing spurt in this photo. Those legs have a lot more growing to go! Deena Sessums is the photographer.

Harlequin stacked at 5 months of age

OK, five months of age is NOT the best age for Borzoi puppies when it comes to looks. But they are cute in their own way. They are also quite darling and sweet which makes up for all those legs and flailing limbs. So here is Luther and his gawking body at five months of age. Photo by Deena Sessums.

It is so interesting to watch puppies develop. Here is Luther's front and rear at 5 months of age as he begins to come together.
