Zodi was a goofy, charming fellow who really knew how to worm his way into a girl's heart. He was an impressive dog, topping out at 33 inches at the shoulder and maintaining a heavy coat despite high Texas summer temperatures. I routinely shaved or sheered him in the summer.

While Zodi loved to go to lure courses and got excited each and every time I approached the lure with him, he never took more than three steps toward pursuing the plastic bag. He much preferred to stand around looking regal, something he excelled at. He also excelled at being a social butterfly. The Zo Man loved to be around people. He would play to his adoring crowds like a vain movie star.

Zodi was my second dog who bloated but did not torsion. I was staying with Susan for her home town shows when the handler called to tell us Zodi was bloating. Thanks to Shae Beck's experience and quick thinking my boy was fine. I had his stomach tacked to prevent any other scares like that one.

Tragedy struck when Zodi was diagnosed with bone cancer. My heart still breaks when I think of that difficult time. I do miss Zodi. He was such a delight. I miss his grins and his happy go lucky attitude.

Zodi smiling

Zodi was quite a grinner. You could get him to grin on cue by tickling his right cheek. Here he is with a lopsided grin on his face.

These photos were taken of Zodi in April of 2004 when he had bone cancer. He really enjoyed being out with us.
