Hay Luz's face.

Hay Luz was born spunky. When her littermates were tottering around the whelping box, she was doing balestras. As if that alone would not get my attention, she has a never-say-die gleeful disposition. Hay Luz brings a smile to my face every day.
Due to the athleticism Hay Luz had demonstrated in my yard, I was not particularly surprised when she was the first pup in the litter to start flattening out and running more like an adult than a pup when chasing the lure. Now that Hay Luz has become active in lure coursing competition, I am just as pleased with her running abilities. Now I need to get myself in gear and start preparing her for obedience! It is gratifying when the puppy you fell in love with at first sight turns out to be exactly what one wanted out of the litter.
Hay Luz' call name comes from a Spanish phrase that means "There is light." It is roughly pronounced "eye loose."

During the first part of the summer of 2008 I put out a larger kiddie pool for the dogs. The only dogs who would get in this pool were Lightning and Hay Luz. Lightning, being the dainty lady that she is, would get in the pool and stand, but Hay Luz had no such inhibitions. Hay Luz took complete advantage of the pool while it was out. Due to the draught and looming water restrictions, I had to put this pool away. But it is waiting for next summer's play. I am sure Hay Luz will appreciate it. She sure is an enthusiastic girl.

A lovely shot of Hay Luz's profile that I was lucky enough to get while she checked out some dogs down the road on January 29, 2008.

Hay Luz has a thing for hoses. No doubt, if you have surfed through my web site, you have noticed that many photos have a hose or hoses strewn around on the ground. This is mostly due to Hay Luz's handywork. I finally purchased an enclosed hose container. So far she hasn't figured out how to destroy that yet.

This was taken of Hay Luz at the same time as the profile of her above. I really love the way this girl is put together. This photo was taken on January 29, 2008.

Here I am showing you another picture of Hay Luz's sweet face. Well, I can't help it, I think she is just the cutest thing in the world.

While at the Trinity Valley Rodesian Ridgeback Club of Texas, Sherita helped me take some photos of Hay Luz. We got this picture of her trotting. This photo was taken on November 9, 2008.

This is the other photo we got at the TVRRCOT lure trial. I managed to sort of stack her. Photo taken on November 9, 2008.

Hay Luz watching intently at a squirrel in a tree on April 18, 2008.
|
Hay Luz is still watching that same squirrel but trying to take a break during the siege. She sure has intense eyes.

On January 12 and 13, 2008 I took Hay Luz and Sartre to the Alamo Area Whippet Club and Lone Star Borzoi Club ASFA trials. Dan Gauss of Shot on Site photography took these two lovely photos of Miss Hay Luz. This wiry girl is holding her own against the tough local competition. I am very proud of her.
