"Hay Luz"
|
|
|
This active girl has been the most robust pup from birth, though not the largest. Along with that physical athleticism she has a remarkable sense of humor. She delights me in every way. Hay Luz sort of reminds me of my first borzoi, Iva. Like Iva, Hay Luz has a marvelous joy for life and keen sense of humor. She is also extremely curious. Hay Luz frequently helps me do chores around the yard in her own special doggy way. To put icing on the cake, Hay Luz is very interested in the game of lure chasing. She earned her JC title at the Trinity Valley Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Texas Trials on September 22 & 23, 2007 then achieved her SC at the same club's trials in May. Hay Luz then earned her first major title in the form of an ASFA Field Championship on November 28, 2008. She completed her AKC Field Champion title on February 7, 2009.

Hay Luz checking out something interesting in the back pen. I just think this girl is so special. Photo taken on March 4, 2007.

Well, I had another photo here, but on December 21, 2006 I got an even better picture. Here is Hay Luz watching some birds.

Hay Luz from the rear. Photo taken on April 1, 2007. That is Lightning next to her in that weird position. I caught her just as she was making a turn. It always amazes me at how flexible a living organism must be to function. Photos like this help one to appreciate that.
|
Finally, I got a picture of this girl's front. It is not a great shot, but it may be one of the few candid front shots I ever get of Hay Luz. Anytime I maneuver arount to her front for a picture, she has to come check out what I am doing. Photo taken on March 12, 2007.

Here you can see Hay Luz moving toward me. It was June 7, 2008 when I took this photo.

During the Fall of 2007 I took Hay Luz and her brothers and sisters to some local lure practices. Mr. Van Hooser caught this photo of her streaking after the lure. At first I did not recognize Hay Luz. There was so much hair flowing in that photo I couldn't believe it wasn't a picture of a more mature borzoi. But there were no other almost black self brindle borzoi there, so I had to admit this had to be Hay Luz and she was hairy. Of course, she does not have all that lovely hair any more now that it is the end of August. Hopefully this will not be the only photo I have of her with flowing coat!

Tiny Miss Hay Luz is showing off her front and rear in these photos taken when she was six weeks old.

Here is Little Miss Leggy Hay Luz at three months. Just look at that tail wag! Deena Sessums took this photo.

Hay Luz stacked (well sort of) at five months. She sure was wiggly. That's my girl! Photo by Deena Sessums.

Yes, Hay Luz is a great help with everything. To her, life is a participatory sport. She is such a cool dog.
|
I have loads of photos of Hay Luz's cute face, but this is one of my favorites. Just look at that face! How could anyone resist that? Hay Luz was two and a half months when the photo was taken.
