"Morpheus"

Next Borzoi
Morpheus is now a dear companion and part of the Hotchkiss family. He has been freed from the shackles of oppressive summer heat and banal surroundings. Instead, he is surrounded by the lush beauty created by the Mediterranean climate that dominates the coastal region of Southern California. But best of all, he is the center of attention in the Hotchkiss household. What more could a dog ask for?

Morpheus and Louise in San Antonio

Louise with Morpheus outside the Hotchkiss home right after they arrived from Texas. Finally! Morpheus didn't think that road trip would ever end.

Morpheus at the Donut Shop

Morpheus is accompanying Louise to the Doughnut Shop in this photo. Gee, Nancy never took me to get doughnuts! Maybe that long car ride was worth it after all!

Morph and garden

Not only is Tofu Boy in California, but he lives in a garden: with squirrels. Morpheus' yard provides a beautiful setting for a borzoi. Actually, this sort of reminds me of my Grandmother's backyard. What a pleasant place to hang out.

Morpheus Watching a Squirrel

Why is it that squirrels have to stay so high in the trees? But then, I suppose that "hard to get" aspect of their being is one reason why squirrels are so enticing. They sure do make a dog's life much more interesting.

Morpheus stands on wall

Maybe, just maybe, if I get up here I could get that squirrel!

Morpheus and stash

Towel? What towel? Really, Mom, I have just been relaxing here the whole time. I don't know how this stuff got outside!

Morpheus in car

Isn't it amazing how quickly our dogs take over things? Here is Morpheus who has taken over three quarters of the car for his own personal use. Comfy Morph?

Morph in his pool

As you can tell, Morpheus is very comfortable in his home. Not only does he live in paradise, but he can engage in activities that are true to his basic nature. While he no longer sits on the side of the pool like he used to, he sure does enjoy it. Here is Morph cooling off after a fun trip to the park.

Morph Wants Chip
Morph Wants Another Chip

The life of a dog is so hard. Look at what Morpheus has to do if he wants a corn chip from his people. Poor baby, he has to prop his delicate muzzle on the hard wood so that he can look pitiful enough to get that which he desires. Are these dogs manipulative? Look at those imploring eyes. Why on earth would anyone think borzoi were manipulative? I still want to know how many corn chips he was able to importune from Mimi and Louise.
