Another photo of Luther exploring the veranda at a friend's house on St. George Island, Florida.

Luther really does enjoy his time on St. George Island. He absolutely LOVES to chase crabs. I can absolutely understand why he might since I love crabs, too. He also loves evening bike rides and walks with Ella.
Luther is a cheerful fellow with a strong sense of personal dignity. He has inherited the premature greying gene from his mom, just like his sister, Lightning. You can really see the grey around his mouth in some of the photos. But the grey only gives him a more dignified appearance, something I am sure Luther approves of.
Another trip we took was to the state park on the east end of St. George Island. While there, we took a nature walk that offered some very scenic views. Here are Ella and Luther on the boardwalk that made up the first part of our hike.
Here is another view of the boardwalk, this time heading toward the viewing platform. I can tell you that St. George Island is nothing like Galveston Island or Padre Island which are two of the barrier islands I am used to here in Texas. Pine trees on a barrier island? Amazing and beautiful.
At the end of the boardwalk was a viewing platform that gave us an excellent view of a wild section of the island. Luther enjoyed himself exploring the platform and interacting with us.
This is a bit blurry, but Luther looked so happy that I had to include it on the web site.
Once passed the viewing platform, the trail became a dirt track through the island wilderness. Here you can see that Luther caught the scent of some critter and was enjoying a chance to pretend he is a great hunter. (Disclaimer: no critters were found or harmed during our walk, but don't tell Luther I told you).
Another thing I did during my visit is go to a friend of Ella's home. The home had a large veranda where we relaxed for a while. Here is Luther on the porch checking out something that was on the ground below.
Another photo of Luther on the porch from the rear.
I really like this photo. Again, Luther on the veranda.

Luther in action!
After a little bit of exploring out in the wilds around the house, Luther leaps up to return to us. I think he just enjoyed being scenic on the veranda. After all, Luther is a Spa dog and enjoys presenting a good image.
