"Booker"

Booker is one of only two pups in this litter who is not a brindle. He also is the lightest color and has the most white of all the pups. What is funny about Booker is that I had not really noticed him at all until one day I looked down and thought "Wow, that is a nice looking puppy!" I guess I was having trouble seeing beyond his color. White is obvioiusly not my favorite color. But since there is no such thing as a good dog with a bad color, especially in this breed, I suppose I can live with Mr. Booker's whiteness. I am glad to welcome this cheerful boy back home and look forward to having the opportunity to finish his AKC field championship and take Mr. Booker into the show ring.
Booker earned his JC title at the Trinity Valley Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Texas trial on September 22 & 23, 2007 and his SC title on November 2, 2008. He is close to finishing his AKC Field Championship.

Here is Booker waiting for his turn at the Aprill 22, 2007 lure practice. So this boy goes to hot west Texas and he grows this amazing thick coat. Someone explain this to me.
|
"Hey! The lure is back that way!" Waiting is so hard to do. Other than showing April, Booker's friend, picking a stick out of his hair I like this picture of him. It really shows off the coloration of his face. His mom is so dark, I had no clue she had such an extensive mask which she sure passed on to her pups. His mask is the most noticeable since he is such a light color without brindling.

Booker's profile. I got this photo as he was watching a dog go up to the line.
|
Just look at the intensity in this dog's eye. He really can't wait until his turn to chase that lure!.
|
And he's off! Finally, Booker gets his turn!
|
Sherita brought Booker to the lure course practice on February 18, 2007. Unfortunately, since she was working the lure, and I ran Booker for her, I did not get a new stacked shot of this pretty boy. I did get a thrill to see how well he is running. I was able to catch a few pictures of him while he rested in his X-pen. I just loved this picture, so I thought I would share it. I guess I like these close up photos of the puppies' eyes. As they say, the eyes are the windows to the soul. Borzoi have very deep souls. Just look into their eyes. But use caution, you might just fall too deep and loose your heart to the love of a Borzoi.

Booker came out to play with his brother, Bheru, and sister, Hay Luz, at the ASFA trials on January 12 and 13, 2008.

Booker is shown here running with his sister, Hay Luz, in a photo taken by Dan Gauss of Shot On Site Photography. This was taken on either January 12 or 13, 2008.

Here is Mr. Booker at six weeks. When he was born, his spots looked black. But slowly, the color started fading toward red. Eventually, his spots faded to a light fawn. Margaret Strother took this photo.

Booker at twelve weeks. See how much lighter his spots were at this point. This photo was taken by Deena Sessums.

Here is Booker all grown up at 2 and a half years of age. This photo was taken at the TVRRCOT lure trial on November 9, 2008.

Booker kicking up dirt and grass during the November 28, 2008 trial hosted by the Lone Star Borzoi Club. This fellow is doing well and Sherita says he is running better and better each time he competes. Photo by Shot on Site.

Booker launches himself after the lure. I love this photo. Not only are his ears hilarious, but he has such a joyous look on his face. Does this fellow enjoy chasing the bag, or what? This photo was taken by Shot on Site.
